What’s different about this park and ride scheme? Watch us on Countryfile to find out

We recently had fun filming with BBC’s Countryfile team at Cholsey Farm Riding in Buckinghamshire. Watch the end result which aired on Sunday 18 April.

We are so lucky to have Bushy Park on our doorstep, but sometimes it’s good to stretch out a bit more with a longer ride in the countryside – which is where our friends at Cholsey Farm Riding fit in. They have the open fields, the local bridleways, and space to park a horsebox, so they really do offer a ‘park and ride’ scheme with a difference.

Last month BBC Countryfile invited us to be part of a feature on Cholsey Farm and we were only too happy to dust down the horsebox and head west out of town.

Here you’ll see Countryfile’s Sean Fletcher riding Marcus (whose ‘splendid moustache’ has been much admired by viewers), and hear about the impact of being around horses both from Natalie and from young volunteer Louis.

But what was happening behind the scenes? ‘Well,’ said Natalie, ‘Marcus was trumping A LOT so we had to keep waiting for him to stop as the noise was drowning out the interview.’

Ah, the glamour ...
