Volunteer Cynthia in the spotlight!
It goes without saying that all of the Park Lane team love horses, and there are plenty of thoughtful gestures towards them, the team, and the participants. Here’s one you might not expect.
I’d like to say a big thank you to volunteer Cynthia who brings a selection of fresh herbs from her garden and lets the ponies decide which they want to eat.
Herbs such as thyme, rosemary, sage and mint – and many others – are all beneficial, but horses are clever enough to know which they need at a given moment and which they don’t. They’ll self-medicate by foraging on herbs in their fields or hedgerows to help keep their body systems healthy and balanced. Clever, huh?
The ponies are asking what’s on the menu next week, Cynthia!
Of course some herbs are poisonous, so never offer them to a horse you see in a field.
