What does this news mean for Park Lane Stables?
1. It’s a whole new chapter for the 200 year old stables in the heart of Teddington. Our horses will once again be seen on the streets, and at the ‘cuddle door’ on Park Lane itself.
2. In the 13 years that we were busy tenants at Park Lane there was no opportunity to improve the facilities. Now that we own it and have a temporary home from which to operate, we’re looking forward to carrying out some improvements.
3. That will include finally realising our amazing wall of bricks, each one sponsored by and bearing the name of a supporter. A lasting legacy of this year’s momentous fundraising campaign, this will write into the fabric of the building the next chapter in its history.
4. After we return to Teddington we may continue to operate from Petersham too. We’re currently exploring possibilities.
5. We’re looking forward to resuming riding and carriage-driving in Bushy Park in 2022. If you’re local and you see us, give us a wave!
6. This year has seen a surge in demand to ride with us, and the waiting list for riders with additional needs has grown too. We have plans to increase our capacity but we remain a small team, both of people and specially trained ponies. We love to help where we can, so do contact us (see our Riding and RDA pages) if you’d like to arrange to visit.
7. We’ll be adding new information to our website, and letting you know when we have in the Pony Express and on our social media pages.
8. We also plan to hold a street party to mark our return to Teddington, and to thank our immediate neighbours and the whole community for their support. Watch this space!
