Prodney’s Blog: Natalie’s been secretive, I knew something was up

I loved all the media attention this spring, but secretly I was glad to head off down to our fields for a nice quiet summer.

There’s definitely been something in the air, though, and I haven’t quite been able to put my hooves on it. Natalie hasn’t been here as often as usual and has seemed distracted. Was our Teddington home still being mobbed by journalists? Was my deputy Marcus trying to knock me off my leading actor role by ingratiating himself with the TV film crews? I heard rumours ...

Polly stayed up in Teddington, then joined us recently full of ridiculous tales of watching polo matches. I sternly chided her for telling porkies. As CEO at Park Lane it falls to me to ensure that my team of ponies are honest at all times. Polo in the middle of Teddington? Whoever heard of such a thing.

And now Natalie has finally admitted that they haven’t been in Teddington at all for months, but had moved up the road to Petersham. (Perhaps Polly’s story is true after all?) Just as I was absorbing this, she told me she’d bought Park Lane from our old landlord so we’ll be moving back home after all. It seems I’ve missed the entire drama over the summer and now it’s over.

I can tell you I wasn’t impressed with all this secrecy. Natalie simply shrugged her withers and said it was all very complicated and she hadn’t been able to tell anyone. “Think of all the vulnerable people who depend on us. We had to protect them from the process going on behind the scenes as long as it was unresolved.”

But I’m a horse, for goodness sake, who am I going to tell?

Oh hang on, I suppose I could write about it here to entertain my loyal readers. Only now I don’t have to as I’m told there’s a press release and everything.
