I celebrated my 44th birthday on 30 May, and although I said I’d rather have rubber matting than carrots I did get a few of those too, and there were some wonderful scritches and neck rubs.

A big thank you from all of us to all of you for donating. The matting is on order and it’ll be a very proud personal moment for me when it is laid on the floors of our shiny new stables.

The birthday messages also helped to make my day feel special. I’m sharing a few of them with you here. You’ve made an old horse very happy, thinking of what a difference this will make to my old bones and hooves.
